Questions people ask us.

Something else on your mind?

Ask us on WhatsApp
Why is it called a joinery license?

NSW puts cabinet making in one class with doors, windows, stairs and other built-in timber work. It calls that class joinery, so you apply for joinery.

When do I need a license?

For home joinery worth more than $5,000 in labour and materials, including GST. Board, benchtops, hardware and your labour all count.

Can I take on a full kitchen renovation?

A whole kitchen, bathroom or laundry renovation is a separate class in NSW. A joinery license is one way in, with extra units on top. Ask us what it would take.

How much does it cost, and how long does it take?

It depends on which units your work covers and what you hold. The free check gives you the full cost and a timeframe first.

I work in another state. Can you help?

Yes. Every state draws the lines around joinery its own way. Tell us where you work and we’ll check.

Check if you qualify for free.

Tell us about your work. We tell you what you need, what we can do for you, and the full cost.

Ask about your license

Tell us your trade and the state you work in. We’ll tell you what the license asks for and how we can help.

For contractor, trade, automotive and labour hire licenses. We don’t do driver or forklift licenses.
